FAQ - Camping Fan
Answers to the questions our customers ask most about this product category.
General
Can you charge it in your car?
Yes, absolutely! You can charge the fan in your car just like you would charge a cell phone. As long as your Subaru's engine is running or the car is supplying power to its USB ports/cigarette lighter adapter, it will charge the fan perfectly.
How to charge it:
The cable we sent has a standard, wider USB plug on one end and a smaller "Type-C" plug on the other. You plug the small Type-C end into the fan's input port to charge it. Any standard USB phone charger at home will also work!
Is there a Low-Battery Indicator?
No, there is no beeping sound. We designed the fan to be completely quiet so it doesn't disturb your sleep. Instead of a sound, there are indicator lights on the base of the fan that will let you know when the battery is running low.
The Remote Control Battery does it need to be changed?
Yes, eventually. The remote uses a small, flat coin-style battery (button battery) that will slowly drain over a long period of time.
Do you need to unscrew it? Yes, there is a tiny safety screw on the back of the remote's battery compartment. When the remote eventually stops working, simply unscrew that little screw, slide the tray out, pop a fresh button battery in, and screw it back together.
Where is the Battery? (Is it missing?)
The battery is already built inside the fan! You will not find a loose, separate battery in the box. The pictures on the website listing are just a diagram showing you what the high-capacity power looks like inside the machine. It is fully self-contained and ready to be charged up right out of the box.
Regarding the Cables
You mentioned receiving two cables, though we only see one standard cable in our records (the one with a wider USB plug on one end and a smaller Type-C plug on the other).
How the ports work: The fan serves as a 3-in-1 power bank. The smaller Type-C port is used to input power (to charge the fan itself). Right next to it, there is a standard USB port used to output power—meaning if your cell phone dies during a power outage, you can plug your phone's charging cord into this USB slot, and the fan will safely charge your phone!
