FAQ - Climbing Dome & Frame
Answers to the questions our customers ask most about this product category.
About Usage&Safety
Is the climbing frame supposed to be slightly wobbly?
During the initial assembly, the structure may feel slightly flexible—this is normal as it allows for minor adjustments. Once all connectors are tightened and the structure is fully assembled, it will become rigid and stable. If it remains loose, please double-check that every single bolt is tightened correctly and that the frame is placed on a flat, level surface.
Do I need to anchor the climbing frame to the ground?
We strongly recommend securing the frame to the ground using ground anchors or stakes. This prevents the structure from tipping over during high winds or if children climb on one side, ensuring maximum stability and safety.
Can I leave the climbing frame outside all year round?
While the frame is coated with weather-resistant paint, constant exposure to rain, snow, or harsh UV rays can accelerate wear and tear. We recommend using a waterproof cover during winter or long periods of inactivity. If you live in an area with extreme weather, we suggest moving it to a garage or shed during the off-season.
Is it safe for children of all ages?
We recommend adult supervision at all times and suggest placing the frame over a soft surface, such as grass, wood chips, or rubber mats, to provide extra protection in case of accidental falls.
Should I check the screws regularly?
Yes! We recommend performing a "Safety Check" every month. Due to active play, vibrations can cause bolts to loosen over time. Simply walk around the frame and tighten any bolts that feel loose to ensure the structure remains perfectly safe.
Is the paint or coating on the GVDV climbing tower non-toxic and safe for children?
Yes, absolutely. All GVDV climbing towers are coated with high-grade, eco-friendly plastic powder coating. Our products undergo rigorous laboratory testing to comply with international children's product safety standards.
Heavy Metal Tested: Comprehensive lab testing confirms that heavy metal elements (such as lead Pb, cadmium Cd, mercury Hg, and arsenic As) are either Non-Detectable (ND) or fall well below strict safety thresholds, ensuring the coating is completely non-toxic and safe for skin contact.
Should the paint or powder coating rub off or peel under normal outdoor use?
A: No. Under standard manufacturing and surface-treatment conditions, the powder coating is baked into the metal to create a durable, weather-resistant barrier that adheres firmly and does not rub off or transfer onto hands or clothing, even after prolonged outdoor exposure.
About Assembly
How long does it take to assemble?
Assembly typically takes 1–3 hours depending on your skill level. We highly recommend having two adults work together to hold the poles in place while the connectors are tightened.
